Habitat: Found in INDOOR planting pot growing out of coco

Gills: Dark brow/reddish from what I can tell

Stem: Whitish

Cap: Light brown, about half an inch in diameter

Bruising: Looks like some blue bruising on the stem?

Location: Inside an indoor planter

Sorry in advance for the pictures, doing the best I can with what I got

Yes, I am 100% certain.
Having one single mushroom popping up indoors unexpectedly is already strange, but if that mushroom was miraculously active, too it'd be like winning the lottery. Twice.
Only very, very few mushrooms are actually active.

Ok, apart from the fact that the images are not too good and a fresh specimen would be needed for a real ID, you said it grew INDOORS on coco. Then you say there was alder mulch. That is a strange indoor environment. What are the temperatures where it popped up?

Just from what hes seen growing in N Cali. Again not normal indoor growing situations so dont discount it just because of that.

Its a soil mix with coco and alder mulch and yes he thinks its strange too. Temps have been high 80s at night and high 70s during the day.

Impossible. Psilocybe cyanescens don't fruit in tropical temperatures.

How far back should I be going? That picture is what the 2 looked like today. Temperatures have been fluctuating due to ducting issues lately

Have they been near freezing temps? In your grow room? I am talking about mid 30s to low 40s.
Look, it's already very hard to cultivate Psilocybe cyanescens indoors even when the cultivator anally maintains the right conditions. Growing P. cyanescens indoors is a task for the most experienced cultivators, most noobs will fail. That it pops up in a tropical grow room environment by accident is absolutely impossible.

not a cyan. impossible for a number of reasons, most of which GK has just stated. i'd take his advice, the man knows his shit.

also just because it bruises doesn't mean it's active. in the future i would recommend you not take mushroom advice from your friend. if he thought that was a cyan then he is dangerously unqualified.
