So the Dad in the Balloon Hoax...

Said at 5:30am that he would have a huge announcement to make at 10am.

So he comes out and says "I'm getting so many questions that I've brought this box here for you to write down your questions on a piece of paper and I will answer them by 730pm tonight."

The reporters ask him if this is a hoax and he replies "No hoax."  And walks away.

That was his huge announcement.  Guy is fuckin' with the media and he's my hero.  :lol:

Why hide the kid in the rafters while all the authorities were worried about his safety, being that they thought he was inside the balloon.  That dad clearly wanted to lead them to believe that the kid was in danger.  As a result, valuable resources were wasted just to give this asshole some desperate attention.

Hey, maybe I'm wrong, but all signs point to attention-whore-ism on his part, and I hope he gets grilled for it.

how badly did he hurt his kid though?

insensitive yes but is it worthy of a foreign body temporarily removing the father from his child or punishing him with a monetary fine...and what would a fine accomplish?

I thought we already came to the conclusion that this whole thing is a clever plan hatched by the gov't and using the media to draw attention away from what REALLY HAPPENED yesterday- aliens.

Well, at the very least, he might have lied to police or whathaveyou.  Hell, maybe all the hype about the kid wasn't his fault in the first place, but he certainly did seem to want to keep up the facade.

Why call the FAA before 911 if his kid was really in danger?

More importantly, why does everyone seem to care so much? Yeah the guy's a douche, and I'm sure local goverment will be charging him for every penny that was spent on this whole thing.

By continuing to talk about it you're giving him the attention he wanted in the first place. Let's drop the moral condemnations and move along folks, because there's nothing to see here.
