I'm going to stuff one and post pics. I don't care about the contest.

Soaking it with nutrient water and colonizing it inside a quart jar or equivalent is gonna turn out like crap.

If you're gonna allow stuffing with uncolonized sub, then why not just allow stuffing w/ spawn? You won't be able to tell the difference anyway in the pics. How would you catch cheaters? And if you stuff w/ uncolonized grain you're limited to whatever stuffed animal u can stuff in a quart jar or some other sterile pc'able container.

Uhm I have decided to give the winner a B+ print.  I am totally willing to give some more prints, but I think that will be determined on the creativness of the grow, and what I have available at the time this contest is ended

once I find a natural fiber stuffed animal/toy,
Im going to empty out the stuffing (sterilize the carcass in a jar) and fill the insides with CVC+G and a 1/2 pint of colonized PE wbs. sew it back up in my glovebox and let it colonize in a tray then fruit it in my martha in hopes of some nice PE fruits emerging from various funny places. :super:

I am just going to try some random shit just to see if it works out.. at all. I just loaded one with 2 tbsp of un-colonized WBS on top of the inner fill (just under the "back skin" fabric of the animal).. everything else is going on the outside..

well it looks like allowing uncolonized stuffing, or sub/spawn mixtures are what people want..

so i guess lets go with that..

this is not being judged on creativity, its being judged on style.. whomevers grow and finished product has the most style will be the winner..

style is like are, its subjective.. thats why its the perfect thing to judge a contest on :smile:

consider it an art project where the aret is not judged on the final quality, but on the process that got ity there..

like junkyard metal art and those guys that chainsaw ice..

its all about style..

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

take photos of shroomery, date, time, etc with your steps.

we'll know. if someone is getting fruits 1 week after innoculating a fat stuffed animal with uncolonized grain and sub, then obviously they cheated :shrug:

He just said you can use bulk/spawn to stuff with. Spawn is colonized.

As a non-participant, I'd suggest forgetting all about rules.  Consider it more of an art project than a mycology project. Unleash some creativity!

And since i have agreed to gie prints up I know that the prints i give up will be based on how astheticlly pleasing the winner looks.  I know that if i really like the winner i will dig deep for my prize contribution
