Amanita, but what kind?

Found what at first I believed to be an Amanita Crenulata, then changed my mind to Amanita muscaria var. alba, then thought about Amanita pantherina var. multisquamosa....

I'm thinking it's pantherina var. multisquamosa, but I want some expert opinions before I decide to indulge.


Habitat:
Light soil under coniferous trees, general area is a mixed coniferous and deciduous

Gills:
white, plentiful

Stem:
4" stem length down to bulb, generally 1" in diameter, creamy white, bruises yellow/brown, smooth with volval hairs, hollow

Cap:
8" max. diameter, light tan/beige, smooth, convex

Spore print color:
white

Bruising:
yellow/brown on stem




I want to add that I did not see an annulus on the stem, I'm not sure if I rubbed it off during handling or what. What do you guys think this is?

My guess is Amanita multisquamosa.

Should have an annulus.

Is there a possibility that it could not be a Pantherina because of the fact that I do not remember seeing an annulus on the stem?

Can the annulus be blown off or washed off naturally?

I've seen annulus come off naturally...  Not a ton, but I've seen it.

it's probably a yellow amanita muscaria, just faded. In what state & county did you find it?

very seriously doubt that its Amanita Amerimuscaria, (Yellow-Orange Fly Agaric) I agree with alan, it is most likely amanita pantherina var. multisquamosa. However, i wouldnt reccomend attempting to consume this form of Pantherina unless you are an experienced Amanita hunter/IDer. Stick to the verified Red Fly Agaric, and Amerimuscaria.
