Nice, looks like Amanita multisquamosa, but i dont see a striate margin, may also be A. velatipes or A. gemmata looks like part of the pantherina complex for sure.

Are you in the northeast?Any pics of the uprooted bulb?

Looks like A. gemmata, though the clustered growth likely indicates that its a related species.
