Amanita Gemmata.. edible? Know anything?

yo,
I was biking around yesterday afternoon and I came across a bunch of what I thought were my first amanita muscarias, so I picked them and brought them home. After going through the amanita key in mushrooms demistified I realized that judging by the indistinct volva they were in fact Amanita Gemmata, the gemmed amanita, . Aurora says it's poisonous, containing the same toxins as Amanita Muscaria and Pantherina, although, he says, some books list it as edible. I don't plan on eating it, but I was wondering if it would have the same effects as muscaria and pantherina, if it is another amanita eaten for psychedelic effects. Does anybody have any experience with this mushroom, or know of a link where I could see some better pictures of it than are in Mushrooms Demystified? There doesn't seem to be lots of information on it. Side question: frost is here, are liberty caps done? :confused:

None of the Amanitas are eaten for psychedellic properties, because they don't have them. I've heard that the Amanita experience is better described as a delerious rant, which often ends up with the person vomiting. Not fun if you ask me.

Well, maybe psychedelic isn't the word.. how about psychoactive.. Some friends of mine spent last winter eating small doses of amanita muscaria for a big energy buzz and heightened awareness. They prefer it to psilocybes, and that's enough to make me a little curious.

Amanita muscaria are quite psychoactive, but in a way that I find to be directly opposite to psilocybe mushrooms. Rather that a rapidly churning mind filled with many thoughts seemingly at once, a. muscaria inebriation is characterized by a striking stillness of mind. This is accompanied by very heavy muscle relaxation, salivation, and towards the end of the experience, dissociation (what might be called "delirium"). I find it quite pleasant. I've also never felt any stomach discomfort, but I know those who have, not unlike that from psilocybe mushrooms.
