why was EveryThing so huge back in the day... creature wise?

interested in the subject but really no time for spending time research on dinosaurs and old stuff... or shall we call them giant Prehistoric Animals



but everything even small normal animals from now where like giant killing machines back in the day.

Less gravity back in the day, so organisms had less resistance to grow big.  Then a meteor hit, adding to the weight of Earth, increasing it's gravity.

why is this in m&p?

maybe because there was a lot more energy to be had (a lot more things to eat). when that ran out, the big shit died. yeah, there was some crazy fucking ship back in the day i wish it was still around.

This is actually a really interesting question but I have no idea. Doesn't really make sense that suddnely the whole population of earth got miniaturized.

Anyway, why not in M&P?

Lol please. The people who post in M&P also post in other forums, they are the exact same people, how can you not see this? You also post in M&P and other forums, there is no difference. I think you're pretty stupid for not seeing this MushroomTrip, and no I don't have any scientifical evidence to back up this claim.

Yea, the whale of course.  I think this topic has is formed by some confirmation bias.  Selectively choosing to consider only the brief period of time that had big creatures and ignoring the hundreds of millions of years where all life on earth was much smaller then today.

Another thing to consider is the cycle of extinction, then proliferation of diversity, then specialization and extinction again.  Large animals require lots of food, lots of space, very and specific conditions in their environment.  They are the most fragile members of the ecosystem, so when a mass extinction cycle comes they are the first to go and smaller creatures can survive.  If there is a long time between extinctions, then perhaps there is more time to evolve a large size because adaptations wouldn't be required when teh environment is roughly static.  If extinctions happened closer together then there would be less time available to evolve to such a large size.  The dinosaurs had quite a long period of time before their extinction happened.  There were some pretty large creatures 10-20 thousand years ago and they have not been able to cope with the current mass extinction - and many more of the large creatures we have today will go too.
