need an ID in TEXAS

found some of these..





The stem stained green/blue. spore print looks dark purple.
I think they are cubes, but would like a second opinion.


I also, saw some of these.




The stem seemed to be a sort of red/brown. The spores were grey/black

I thought that they look like dung bell.. any thoughts?

those cubes have all made amazing prints. is there a way to determine the strain of cube? this is texas, so my first thought would be thats what they are. any thoughts?

If you were to buy prints off line a Gulf Coast or even the Golden Teacher I seem to remember are or were originally collected from Gulf Coast and Texas regions..
But as stated above they are considered wild Cubensis.. You found them in Texas so that makes em Texas Cubes in my book ...:wink:

No way, those are most obviously purple plumpy puffin popper cubes, perhaps a hint of the paddy pumper strain mixed in.  Good finds OP>

I usually name the strain after the nearest city where it was found.

You can send out a bunch of prints and years later see your strain pop up in the cultivation forums...

Ya know AR... I sent out a bunch of Cube and Cope prints a few years ago and I was always curious if anyone got them off the ground so to say..
