Rain Brings Variety - ID

Hello again Shroomery, last time I posted, I didn't have and psilocybe mushrooms.  Hopefully the rain brought some good mushrooms with it.  A few more guesses on these.  Please help me ID them so I can go pick more of the correct mushroom before they are gone.  Still raining though :smile:

All specimens found in Texas, on cow/horse manure.  Just rained/Raining

#1 - Baeocystis?  Is that in Texas? Copelandia cambodgeniensis?

Cap: Concave; White; Top looks like it is drying out, turning blueish
Gills: Light-Brown; Close together; Attached to stem
Stem: 5mm; Was long; Used to be white? lots of blueing; White specks at top



#2 - Cubensis?

Cap: Concave/Umbonate; Tan getting slightly darker at Top; cracking around edges
Gills: Light Brown/Brown; Look like they are coming together to form bigger Gill
Stem: 3-5mm Light at top, becoming brown as it goes down
Don't See Any Blueing Though...



#3 - Panaeolus campanulatus?

Cap: Conical; Tan/Very Light Brown and copperish on top; maybe hygrophanous
Gills: Light Brown, Close Together, Attached
Stem: Bronzish Color, 1-2mm thick, Kind of see fibers at top



#4 - ?

Cap: Conical;Copper/Brown or Gray in another with tan around edges; Cracking. Unique Scales top/center
Gills: Dark brown, close together attached
Stem: 3-5mm; dark brown; attached



#5 - Coprophilia?

Cap: Concave; Copper; hygrophanous
Gills: Dark Brown/Black; Attached; Close
Stem: 1-3mm thick; Dark Brown



#6 - ? small specimen

Cap: concave; orange/red/brown 
Gills: brown; close together; attached
Stem: tiny; light brown - redbrown



Thanks for the help, hope the pictures aren't too crappy.  On the first one, the spore print didn't come out, I'll try to make another tonight.

That is P.cubensis, which bears no resembelance to #2.

#3 is a pan, but i dont believe its a camp...

If #1 is really bluing (not graying but actually bluing) and has a dark (blackish) print, it may be a pan cyan. Is the stem fibrous? When you break it at the base it should be light brownish inside getting whiter as it gets toward the top but easily bluing when handled. Pan cyans also have striation (specks?) toward the top of the stem.

The mushroom is definately blueing, the whole damn stem is blue. I don't have a base to see if it is brown, but there does seem to be some little white specks at the top of the stem. Last night I made a spore print and I will post later. It is dark/black tho. How much dry pan cyan would it take for a real good trip. thanks for your help man.

the mushroom cap in your first picture appears to be Copelandia cyanescens.

Sounds good. Well, here is a spore print and better picture of the mushrooms to help better ID. I want to be pretty sure before I start eating them. Is Pan Cyan potent? I know P. Cyan is. Well thanks for the help.



I also found a new mushroom today. Looks like P. cyan or Cube



Cap: Brown/Cinnamon, getting lighter at bottom; conical into a point, which is slightly darker than the rest of cap
Gills: White Coating over all gills; gills light brown, close together, attached
Stem: Tan; thick; alot of blueing

Alot of blueing, but what is that white covering over the gills? If this is an active mushroom, would that covering have any psilocybin in it? Haha, probably nasty though.

Last one looks to be p. cubensis. white thing is the veil it will open up. well woulda. :smile:find more of those :wink:

your two recent pics are copelandias and cubensis in my opinion. But i'm not an official person around here so wait for one of those green guys. But no worries :wink:

Well, I was hoping a moderator would also comment, but its great to know I found some actives. I have a couple questions if anyone reads this.

1. If I eat cubensis with the cop. cyanascens, will there be any different effects? I wouldn't see why there would be, but I would rather have someone who knows verify for me.

2. It just rained really hard the past couple days. The first day, me and a friend searched for some mushrooms and found decent sized cubes, but searching again today, it seems most are just baby mushrooms in the dung. If it continues raining hard, when is the best time to go hunting, or is it better to wait for the rain to stop and then search. Also, once the rain has left, will there be many more varieties of mushrooms than previously?
