Pathological oyster infestation!
    #11197571 -

Streetcar suburbia.  It was as suburban as we really needed to get.  I seem to have gotten here a couple of days too late, but I'll be sure to check this tree all through the winter.  It looks like a shagbark hickory.

Now those look like oysters to me!  I thought they didn't eat living trees.  The tree itself looks healthy, if you can overlook the runny sores sprouting delicious mushrooms.

I dont believe those are Pleurotus at all they look more like Omphalotus olearius which are poisonous please dont eat those until a proper ID is made from a trusted IDer if you could get a spore print from these on foil or black paper it would help greatly in an attempt on identification oysters print white to light pink and the jack o lantern prints white to light yellow.

Apparently this is an El Niño year, which means a cold, wet winter in the Southeast.  I'm sure I'll find fresh specimens at some point!
