10 01 2009 Hunt, Kentucky
    #11167591 -

Tomorrow I will likely have another hunt since it decided to rain tonight. :P Figures. Anyhow, today I went hiking a bit to see what I could find. I am nearly 100% sure there are no actives here, and that's fine, I had a good time as is. Forgive the lack of proper ID request posting, I'm just going to number the images and see how it goes from there. I'm not overly concerned with ID'ing these, but it would be cool.

Yes, I am wearing gloves. I know that toxins won't go through my skin, but I'm a pansy. lol  Also, before anyone asks, I'm using a Canon 350D with a 28-105mm Canon lens.

Good night!

Hey thanks, I was hoping my knowledge of photography would help here.

I was thinking the same on #10. Fairly unmistakable, even for a newb like myself.

Sorry Bert,it's not called the  "Big Laughing Gym" because it's small.  #11 is not Gymnopilus spectabilis.

Number 11 is most likely Mycena Leaiana I'm not a Trusted Identifier but I am fairly confident on that one

Thanks Shock, I was thinking it was too small, too wet, and too muddy smelling to be BLG. As for #2 and #3 were in the same general area, so I'm fairly certain they are the same. Neat mushrooms, very hard to spot while walking around the leaves.

Bert, it's cool, I knew what you meant. hehe

For further reference, #11 is less than half an inch across.

Okay, I looked up Mycena Leaiana for #11 and it fits quite well. Certainly rubbery and certainly the orange came off quite easy.

Objections always welcome.

I'm still really curious about #6, 7, 8, and 9. I've been looking through mushroom observer but haven't found anything conclusive. #7 and 8 were growing from the same log.

#6 bruises slightly tan/brown, caps are not smooth.

I'm still looking and if I can nail it down I'll post back here for the sake of learning.

What's the spore print on #6? I'm thinking Inocybe by the cap, but of course I am a noob.

whats with the gloves? the mushrooms dont bite

u can even nibble and taste all the mushrooms ur finding, as long as u make sure to spit every last little piece out, some people have even tasted the death cap (though this is not recommended if u already know what it is). the only real danger is in actually ingesting the mushroom.
