    #11140966 -

Anything ever happen to you to show you how much. We take the little things for granted? IE soap, an bathroom... Do you understand, how many people would die because we don't have just the above sample stuff..

taking things for granted is usually caused by people getting used to a routine.
it happens to everyone.
we think it's normal to have a bathroom.
until we are realized of the less fortunate.

I don't know if this is relevant or not but whenever I'm sitting down with my favorite drink and a hot meal and watching a movie I usually have to stop and think for a second that "life is good right now" or something along the lines of that.

I would fucking lose it if I was in prison, not necessarily because of the atmosphere - just the overall fact that you may never be outside of those walls again.

I think it's cool that we can poop in a bowl of water. And then flush it away.

I also think it's cool that we can use petroleum jelly to masturbate with. Not many people are so fortunate.

Who uses petroleum jelly? Sounds both sticky and painful.

The power of soap..
West and Central Africa has the lowest improved sanitation coverage in the world and the highest under-five mortality rates. Poor facilities, inadequate hygiene and unsafe water all contribute to needless child deaths. Yet simply entrenching the habit of washing hands with soap could save some 500,000 child lives every year.

When I was homeless all I wanted to do was take a warm bath with soap and watch Star Trek TNG in an air conditioned house.

If I were a religious man Id like to go on one of those mission trips to dig wells.

I think what really opened my eyes and start realizing what I take for granted on a daily basis was when I broke the fuck out of my ankle.

Not being able to walk for 2 months was the most horrible and depressing experience ever. I was late to all my classes, had to have people carry my lunch for me and shit. It was bad. After that I started realizing "Damn, I take my own human construction for granted, thats fucking sad"

After that I started recognizing.

My spinal injury helped me not take things so much for granted too.

I used to break dance and people cheered me on; now I can barely do the hippie two-step.
