I want to travel around europe

Specifically iv become interested in eastern Europe like Russia,Germany and the likes.

Has anyone made the trip, would going alone be a bad idea?

I want to do this too. Money is an issue, I wonder how much it would cost for 4 weeks of backpacking.

I currently have 24,000 saved up, which was going towards a car, but im starting to realize i need to get away from this hell hole, and lately Europe has been sounding nice,

Yeah definitely. Do you definitely wanna go to Europe? One of my roommates last semester went to Costa Rica and Panama for a month, only spending ~1200 - including his stay at a hostel every night, food, etc. Exchange rate there is so crazy, everything is dirt cheap. The Euro is stronger than USD so that 24000 isnt 24000.

Worth looking into if youre just trying to get out of the states for awhile.

$24000 for travelling is crazy.

You could live comfortably in somewhere like Thailand on less than $1500 a month.

I was planning on going in January but don't think it will happen till another time.

I still need a car so i wont be using all 24000.
I very much interested in England, Germany, Russia, Holland, maybe even Poland, but im not sure how much there is to see there.

Iv already been to spain, italy, france and the likes. Thats why id like to see the more eastern side of Europe.

i am currently making said trip.  i'm WWOOFing in the czech republic right now, to save money.  in a few months i'll be heading out to see a friend in france, then up to hang out with apolly and the chairman in germany.

i haven't done a ton of traveling yet, only been to vienna, prague, and brno so far as big cities go.  but i can tell you that my first night in vienna i met tons of awesome people, 2 of whom i ended up partying up with and traveling with to prague.  we also met another dude at the train station, who joined our party for a few days while in prague.  it was so friggin easy to meet like-minded travelers.  granted, that was in the summer when traveling is at its peak.

when i go back out on the road, it will be december, so i don't figure i'll be running into quite as many travelers and will most likely have to do it more alone, but it's not infeasible by any means.  i hope to be able to utilize couchsurf.com to find some cheap places to crash and some people to meet.  and i'm taking any and every opportunity i come across to hang out with people i know from home or from the shroomery.

if all goes according to the very loosely set plan i have, i'll WWOOF on one more farm in the late spring/early summer, before heading homewards some time in the late summer.  totaling about 1 year and some change abroad.  but my funds are quite tight, so we'll see.

i met a czech dude in a small pub here who said i look spanish.  he obviously was drunk as fuck and blind to boot though, because i have freckles and reddish-brown facial hair.

Don't miss the Alps! If you like beautiful countrysides they are the place to go. There may be numerous mountain ranges in the world, but the colors and sceneries of the Alps are unique, that is for sure.
I highly recommend tripping there, enjoying the sunset, the wildlife, the landscape, was just beautiful.
In Germany there are too many must-sees, but with a little bit of information on your main interests I might be able to set up a list of recommendes places to go :grin:
