leaving from montreal to the uk on the 15th of april, anyone got any tips or anyone from the uk with places to see/ things to do?

and is lsd easy to obtain in uk as opposed to canada

sweetness, i left around this time back in 04. you ever hitch hike? do it. youll love it (well maybe not the uk so much cause its still wet, but if you hit up the south, like spain or italy, hell yeah!). throw away all guide books and make no plans. meet people at hostels, be friends, and go with them somewhere random.

well we plan on hitching everywhere, we're gonna have about 1k cash available and food is gonna be a dumpster diving mission every day, did you have any trouble getting into the country? my partner is underage

Age restrictions are very different in europe, if he is 16 or over, youll have no worrys.

In the UK, if you have time, visit Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh, Highlands and Island if you have time but I doubt it if you're doing all of europe in a month). London is great for a visit, expensive tho. Get a day pass for the tube (£5) and make your own tour. Take a camping stove with you and just eat beans rice etc. Then Id get to France ASAP, take in Paris and the South, and head wherever from there. I cannot recommend eastern europe enough!

it depended. somedays, i would just be hitchin and make pasta with my camp stove and sleep out, others, itd be like 20 or 25 euros for a hostel bed plus dinner, bars, yatta yatta, over 50. at heathrow (london), customs asked me what adress i was staying at, i said, why would i know a thing like that. the guy seemed like he hadnt been laid in a while and hassled me. said he couldnt let me in without knowing where i was headed. and he also asked how much money i had in the bank and how long id be staying. he ended up letting me in though.

i plan to go hitchhiking to spain or italy this year. no plans, little baggage, just a fun trip.

last summer i met some canadian hitchhikers. they visited the baltic states. i was hitchhiking home and saw them getting off a truck, they had a sign and everything :laugh:

they were going the wrong way though so i went over the road and talked to them. they were canadian and were visiting the baltic states and going home through estonia. they said latvia was pretty nasty, because people there were cold and everyone spoke russian. lithuania was good but they especially enjoyed estonia. we exchanged gifts, i gave them a book & they gave me a pair of brand new flip-flops :laugh:

Fuck the hostels. Ever since I discovered couchsurfing I haven't paid for accommodations, met a whole bunch of cool people, and made some friends. I have hosted and traveled. Totally cool shit. Not sketchy at all. Non-profit org. Free membership. Check it.
