This is my first post, but I've been browsing the shroomery for about a year.
For about two weeks, Ive been really getting into meditation, Im quite pleased with the results so far. When I meditate I clear my head of all thoughts and concentrare on my breathing. After about 5 minutes Im usually very relaxed, and have focussed clear thoughts. I've noticed that I have two seperate layers of thought, The first is what I normally use and am aware of. I can silence this with no problem now. The second layer I think is more of an awareness really. (I cant really explain it :-\) but I can't totally silence this, after a while Ill notice that i keep reminding myself not to think, which then leads me to think that I shouldnt be thinking etc... heh. I have a slight anxiety problem, which is almost non-exhistant now, if yall want to know how I faced it give me a PM
What kind of states of consiousness have all of yall reached throught just meditation (without help of psychedelics)?, please describe what they were like and the meditation technique you used to achieve them? Any tips you could give me to help with my silencing of the second layer problem?
This should be a cool thread thanks

Hi! Welcome to the Shroomery and S&P&S!
Please post with us anytime.
As far as getting answers to your question(s) it might be better to establish a dialogue in a few other threads before asking questions in your own. Some people are uncomfortable to dialogue with a newbie until they know them a little.
Cheers,

I have found longer meditation sessions to cure your second problem.

remember follow the breath =) see it twist enter and twist down the spine and fill thy stomach. Exhale and see the breath leave as it entered.

if you keep practicing, eventually yer brain will function as you want it to. its incredible shit. the brain is a muscle. keep working it out, and you can make it do what you want. it takes practice. but its worth it. and meditating without thinking about anything else, including thughts about thinking about anything else, feels absolutely euphoric :-)

Thanks for the replies
Last night while meditating I started seeing big blobs of color, wasnt nearly like any shroom type visuals that i get, but interesting never the less, I didn't expect this to happen, and at times it got a little distracting, but im very pleased I also felt a wierd sensation like I was sort of rising out of my head, unfortunately i must of lost concentration because each time it happened i'd bring myself back down. I also had accompanying spinal sensations that were pleasurable, Im pretty excited and proud of myself that I've come so far in only 2 weeks :-D

wow that's great. how often have you meditated in the past 2 weeks?
I totally agree with Growing Vines. focus on your breath, and you will settle, and introvert. since it's the easiest to identify, and the most natural function, concentrating on this will slow your breath, and relax yourself. I am aiming for what snuffelz describes. I've been meditating off and on for a long while, although not consistently enough. but my long term goal is control over my brain, and my thoughts. I've been just trying things out recently, just to see what will work. staring at a candle... chanting zen quotes, ( my fav. seems to be "when hungry, eat. when tired, sleep." [on a further sidenote, it's amazing that some of these phrases you just say, 'well duh' to, but there's so much contemplation and beauty in its simplicity. that's why i've been applying it]). As far as where i've 'been', my most favorite session i ended with such lovely tears... i was listening to a guided meditation for the heart chakra, and i spread my universal love over the face of the earth, and out deep into space. i could feel my love pulsing, and recognized by the One, and returned 10 fold. it was wonderful..... I am very curious of OOBE's, or any kind of projection. The mind is truely the final frontier.
...there's so much...
