Jiffy Mix casing layer

The only bag of jiffy mix we could find at walmart was jiffy mix plus. Becuase christmas shit took over lawn and garden. will it work here are the ingredients:
1)canadian spagnum peat 2)horticultural vermiculite 3)SLOW RELEASE FERTILIZER(less than 1%) 4)lime added for proper ph balance and wetting agent

the only thing we are worried about is the fertilizer. so will it work.

it may work, but it won't help. next time, you may want to just buy the peat moss, verm and (not totally necessary) lime and mix them yourself ala 50/50+ tek.

For Uk growers: I got some coco coir the other day in a pet shop, in the lizards section.
It's called Eco Earth, looks (as our friends across the pond have said) like a brick!
People use it in terrariums for iguans to shit in or something.
Cost about 3 or 4 quid I think.

I used it (with some oyster, as it's about pH 6) to case a pint of cake last week.
