isnt it your job to report illegal activities from hospitals?

just because they say "we'll operate today" doesnt mean they will, my
mom sat for 3 days waiting for knee surgery, she was admitted on the day
it was scheduled, 2 days after her initial visit to the ER, each day it
was the same thing, "cant operate yet" but as soon as the necessary
people were assembled and the room was available the dragged her into
surgery... after she threatened to go to another hospital because of the
delays... mom had no insurance because she was self employed and couldnt
afford it, it was a private hospital that allowed her to make payments
with no security deposits and no risk of repossession

since you know all the facts in that case, which insurance carrier did
the future amputee have, what was the diagnosis that required the
amputation, what was the patients blood type... were you in the
administration offices when they check his insurance? maybe for the 4+
hours it took to see the guy and determine that he needed the leg
removed immediately...

They told him he couldn't stay in the ER after they found out he couldn't pay.  And, as much as we offered to take him to the other hospital, which isn't as close but would damn sure treat him he declined.  He was hell bent on having them treat him there since he felt bad for us transporting him and that hospital was quite close. 

No, they ask him right after they take a set of vitals.  That, or if you're unconcious and paramedics are there one of us or them will go through their wallet to find it, often delaying transport until we find it.  There has to be a reason for this.

yes, in urban hospitals it seems that beds fill pretty fast, they cant
always get an OR since they dont operate in patients rooms, I also had
an employer that waited a week for a triple bypass and he hadnt had a
heart attack... ever... doctors just seem to like doing them now

it seems that insurance isnt the issue if EMTs are all up in patient
files, doctors are telling them patient medical info and everyone is
searching through your wallet before they kill you. Obama certainly
isnt going to fix the issues with the hospitals if negligence is this
big a problem, if anything he'll make it worse
