DMT must be pretty hard to make. Its easier to extract it though :wink:

In all seriousness if you're going to extract and live somewhere where you can get MHRB then just do a STB. I believe I use a variation of Noman's Tek.

it depends on ya bark bruddah. STB is a good start for your first extract.SWIM says 100grams of lye,100grams of bark(shredded),300ml of naphtha, and 1.25 litres of water will usually yeild a gram through evaporation. If you have powdered bark then use 200grams of lye,100grams of bark,300ml of naphtha and 2L of water. It needs to be runny rather than thick or the magic gets trapped in the goo. SWIM started yeilding gooey shit instead of crystals due to the summers heat so he switched over to A/B. A/B is definately better for large amounts and it comes out rather clean with evaporation. Try lining up 9 shotglasses and putting the seperated naphtha in each one. Then foil the top and throw them in the freezer over night. Take them out the next day and slowly pour all the naphtha back into the mix. There will be wet crystals on the side of the shot glases. Take a knife and scrape it all into a big chunk and toss it on a pyrex. chop it up with a razor and spread it out as much as possible. Its ready once it reaches a chalky consistency and no longer smells of naphtha. This method is superior to evaporation and will usually yeild off white to white magic.

I also freeze precip. my yields but I really don't see the need to do an A/B when I consistently get 1.4%-1.6% yields. I see that you wrote to put double the amount of lye when you're using powdered bark, I've only used powdered once and it really didn't work that well, still got 1% though. I'm just wondering if theres a reason to use double the amount of lye for powdered? I might try it with some powdered bark as an experiment.

I have a friend who almost wants to try a good a/b tek over this stb tek. Since the stb didn't work out quite so well for him. He doesn't have any links to any good a/b teks though...

A/B is good to get a full yeild out of a kilo or more. STB only seems good for up to a pound. The reason behind the A/B is so you are working with only liquid when basifying and doing naphtha pulls. Alot of magic is lost when doing big STB batches simply because the bulk bark matter doesnt release everything into the naphtha.For a while SWIM said that the STB worked fine for QP batches until it got to be 110 degrees outside. This encourages fatty material to be absorbed by the naphtha even after doing a naphtha defat of the bark. You could always recrystalize but SWIM wasnt satisfied.

The reason why you use twice as much lye for powdered bark is because you need to use twice as much water to make it a runny consistency. This produces very fast results since the bark has more exposed surface area. It always produced yellow tinted spice through evaporation. Yellow might taste worse but there is something in it that makes the trip linger for a while. The white color is shockingly strong and heady. Orange feels like psychedelic morphine and produces major couchlock. No one can say why with certainty but it is far from placebo. The whole circle commented on how different each was.

STB is the easiest your going to get, and in my experience has been a prolific yielding method of extracting DMT. Seriously, if you can't accomplish the STB you really need to hang up your guns.  By far a rewarding experience no doubt, yet a 1st grader could do it.

Thanks a bunch man, I normally do 250g batches so it really hasn't been a problem with too big of a batch. I can understand though how just working with the basified liquid containing DMT would be a lot easier and better for bigger loads then working with the bark in the water. Maybe I'll just do an A/B next time and do the whole Kilo at once, it would make it easier than doing STB 4 times, even if the A/B takes longer. Now I just need a crock pot I think. Which A/B do you use? I have citric and fumaric acid, I guess the fumaric is the way to go if I don't have HCL, right?

edit- yellow spice with shrooms is a very nice combo. I definitely like to have both yellow and white spice around, along with the DMT N-oxide (the orange spice), as you said, all different effects.

Well for safety/cost white vinegar seems to work fine. Save that fumaric acid for the fumaric acid saturated acetone of freebase to salt(makes it more snortable). The spice is already in a salt form within the bark so a mild acid and heat should get everything out in a few crock pot runs. You should wait until the water is cherry red before separating the liquid.

Personally I think it's easiest without any teks, or any measurements, or any of that stuff. It's so easy to just freehand it, rather than getting caught up in ratios of this-to-that and how much of everything you're "supposed" to use.

Exactly. Just mix everything up in a jar, then pour some of it in another jar, then freeze it. That's my "tek."

Thanks again, how many times should I do the acid/water wash on the bark? Should I just do like a 24 hour slow cook and then strain all the bark, put the liquid in my jug and add acidic water to the crock pot with bark in it to do another extraction on the bark? After that I figure there won't be much left in the bark as long as it was sufficiently shredded/powdered.

100g lye is way too much

You can't use too much lye. It's always best to use more than needed than less because not enough lye will affect your yield.

yeah i know but 100g is over kill. it's impossible to make it more basic than 14ph, so unless you're running a dmt super extraction stop wasting your lye.

It doesn't raise the pH any further, but it does have the benefit of increasing the ionic strength of the solution. Of course, it's more economical to do that by dumping in a load of rocksalt.
