LC: Dextrose/Light Malt Extract question

I'm pretty sure that the answer to this question is going to be by my trying to out myself and seeing how it works but I figured I would ask on here beforehand and see if anyone else had tried this.

I went to my local brewing store and bought a bag of light malt extract and dextrose. Now, the thing that's different is that it's not two separate bags. It's one bag with both of them mixed together. It doesn't have a ratio on the bag so I'm not positive how to compare it around.

Has anyone else used a store bought mixture before with success? I'm hoping to try and make my first liquid culture in the next couple weeks and am wondering anyones opinions.

i use Karo but have seen that stuff and would confadently say it would work but not sure how much to use and that is kind of inportant ya know

Yeah. I'm starting to think that for the first go I'm going to wind up doing different ratios for each far and keeping track of it from several different aspects such as colonization time etc. I know that using too much sugar/nutes ends up making the mixture toxic to mycelium so I'm thinking to discovering how much is TOO much won't be too difficult and finding out the ideal mixture will be the one that grows the most effectively.

Time to experiment, I guess!
