Habitat:
grass, under what i believe to be redwoods.

Gills:
free, white, close

Stem:
a few inches, white, annulus, solid

Cap:
convex, white, finely fibrillose/scaley

Spore print color:
white

Bruising:
bruised brown in some spots, none in others

Other information:

i dont smell anything.

The keys led me to Lepiotacaea, and Lepiota naucina does bare a small resemblance.

The Leucoagaricus naucinus that I find always have a smooth pure white cap even in age. They typically bruise yellow rather than brown. What you have seems to me to be closer to Leucoagaricus americanus.

i see what your saying a lot of the pics i see, the caps are smooth, even at maturity.

demystifies says it can break into scales at age sometimes...but the pins are most deinitely smooth.

and mine is not.

the thing about americanus is they say "coarse scales" and mine are very fine and smooth, you can not really even feel them....

idk if that matters.....

Yeah Johnny I'm not ultra confident on the americanus ID either, but it seemed a little better match to me.:shrug:

nah its definitely some kind of lepiotaceae/leucoagaricus....

stropharia has a purp/brown type print....

this one is white....

Maybe something like Lentinus or Neolentinus.  Check for a saw tooth pattern on the gills.
