Motorcycles?
    #11044020 -

Do any of you ride a motorcycle?

I'm really digging the idea of getting a bike for like 1000 and just riding it early morning/sundays/ and too class..

It seems really awesome being outside, and would change my perspective of transportation in our culture where cars are the norm.

The only thing is the danger aspect, and how much my mom would worry.

what kind of motocycle are you looking for?

after reading the book ,The Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance ive always wanted one, just the way Robert Pirsig describes being on the open road like with his feet 3 inches off the asphalt and going like 85 mph with the cool breeze all around you and the full scenery, its sounds so exhilarating.

i want an old Triumph

I too would love an older Triumph.

last week i was driving down the 110 freeway in LA at about 1030 pm or so and right as i was coming up on dodger stadium, a bike and audi pass me goin like 95 (which the 110 freeway is a very tight small old freeway). i saw the accident unfold before me: the audi cuts off the biker, who is in the fast lane next to the wall, and so the biker slams on his brakes. he then gets rear ended by another car, gets flung from the bike like a ragdoll, and hits the audi that cut him off, bounced off and right as he was about to land upside down on the pavement, i passed the scene. i assume he landed on his head or neck, and this guy would have been lucky to live. so i called it in to 911 and smoked a bowl to relax after witnessing that

Motorcycles are defiantly my favorite mode of transportation. They are extremely fun and give you such a sense of freedom and control. More than that it teaches you to always remain aware of your surroundings and to interpret what's coming. For me, it keeps my mind active and alert to what's going on. You have to always remain attentive to the motorcycle it's self, every turn you lean with it, in sync. Just feels so amazing. I also love the physics behind the two wheels, turn angels, acceleration/deceleration, etc. though i know only basic stuff.
Don't let fear stop your fun! Take a riding class and see how it feels, you can get the motorcycle endorsement for your license and an insurance discount, though the insurance is dirt cheap anyway. Haha, though it's not your skills you need to watch the most, it's every other damn idiot on the road.
