 I got my first motocycle! im scaaaaaaaaaaaared to ride!

1999 Honda CBR 600 F4 with 29195 miles on it.
scared to ride it, and currently taking riders class so I can get my license.
I'm laying off shrooms and weed so I can focus on safety.
I don't want to mow down a family because I was impaired.
Any of you have a bike?????
Suggestions?

I got my license last summer, but i have yet to get a bike. I got a Chinese 50cc scooter for 1300, about a month ago though thats fun to ride. If i can save up the money i plan on getting one for the spring!! just a cheap one 3-4k, I've been looking at the cbr 250 r! Wow a 600 is intense for a starter bike! be careful with that throttle! lol.

practice makes perfect and I'm sure it's just like riding a stick shift. You should get someone who knows how to ride to help you.

you can get a bike cheaper than that and more faster.
lol I paid 1500 for mine.. the guy even threw in the helmet, glove and jacket.. had it checked out at mechanic........... purrrrrfect condition!

nice! where did you get it? I heard the newer models 2009-2015 are better to start off with. But i may get an older model. let me know how it goes! motorcycles are really fine. And as for safety, take the course! its really helpful!

Practice driving in a neighborhood or large empty parking lot. Once you get the hang of it you can venture out onto busier streets and highways and take progressively longer trips.

I know those bikes. The F4's are big too dude  . That's a pretty intimidating first bike. Just start slow and only ride in the back streets.
Don't do any U-turns. Just normal corners. Avoid traffic.
Remember the bike will balance itself when it is rolling along. The forces of acceleration stand the bike up naturally.
Also, if you pull the clutch in you'll never stall the bike.
Remember first is down and second is up! Neutral is inbetween the two.
Just be easy on the controls and stop carefully with your feet ready to touch the ground as soon as you stop so your balanced.
Don't stop on uneven terrain. Try to stop only on perfectly flat terrain

Very nice. I would start by taking it to empty parking lots and focus on getting really comfortable with the clutch and low speed maneuvering. Also getting accustomed to how the breaks respond so you know what to expect. Kind of how you see cops practicing going through cones. Really take your time and don't let your excitement lead to bad decisions, cause that bike looks very exciting and extremely fast.

lol the front breaks are powerful.. I face planted my vag on the gas tank when I grabbed the brake after messing around in the driveway

you have to wear a helmet in the rain
always use the front breaks first
don't put your feet on the ground if the bike is still moving above a certain speed, it's really heavy
