If your cakes are on perlite in a sealed container then I can just about guarantee your humidity is well above 65%. What are you using to guage your humidity? Hygrometers are notoriously unreliable unless you shell out the bucks for a good one.

i don't see how your humidity could drop so low in a sealed rubbermaid. it is closed, right? you may have better luck using a cool-mist humidifier.
but personally i would case the cakes so the humidity needs aren't so high and then use a bubbler for air and humidity.

you probably have too much water in your perlite. i noticed that when i take out by using a turkey baster, it tends to rise in humidity alot. Try it, couldnt hurt much! if u can see water poodles then its too much.

i agree with dog. if your stuff is in a sealed container and your hygrometer reads that low, your hygrometer is more likely to be hosed. but if you want to go the humidifier route, you can get them at any wal-mart/k-mart/drug store. make sure it says cool mist, not warm mist, etc. some people have luck with ultrasonics also.

you may be thinking of tropicaire, which is a humidifier for some pets. i have read mixed reviews for those. here is an example of a cool mist humidifier:

I agree, I think your humidity meter is whack. You do have water in the perlite-right?? I would also encourage you to try the ShroomGod Tek air exchange is the key.
