Wow... I really thought that was easy enough to understand.

I was saying that killing things that harm you is part of surviving. in fact it's one of the most basic parts of human survival. We are smart enough to kill the competition so we survive.

Brodifacoum 0.005% bait, that did the trick for me a couple weeks ago. Damn that stuff is effective, the mice that died indoors died in the middle of the floor, not ever hidden in dark corners.

Single feed rodenticide, eating like half a dozen lethal doses on the first feeding.

My neighbor has birds, so I had mice.  No more, every single furry adventurer is adventurous no longer.

Mice piss on your kitchen cutting board, they shit in corners where the vacuum cleaner dont come, rub off DIRT on the wall (no lie) and many household fires are caused by mice chewing through live electric cables.

Mice are a fire hazard. They can burn your house down even if you got your shit in order.

Plant your traps to get the cheeky ones, then strategically place some Brodifacoum 0.005% baits here & there.

I hate to kill animals as much as the next guy but you can't have mice in your home, end of story. If you don't mind mice in your home because they are cute, your home becomes an infestation point for the neighborhood.

I went with rodenticide right away as I have bad experiences with traps - they snap em and then eat the bait.

A veterinary site, where I kind of insinuated to be a licenced professional (legally so mind you) as the stuff is 5 times more lethal than the stuff you usually buy as a consumer. Its the stuff exterminators use.

In the US, you might be able to get something like it w/o licence. Websites for farmers supplies are a good bet.

0.005% is the way to go, they dont make it stronger than that. Go for pellets or bait blocks, not impregnated grains.

Don't touch the bait. Its not super poisonous to humans in bait form (though it does go through the skin) but mice & friends tend to avoid anything that smells of human.

Be prepared for dominant mice pissing on your bait so they can eat it all by themselves (disgusting huh) so dont spend it all. With this stuff as its so lethal its best to feed some for 2 days, wait 5 days, feed some more and repeat, it saves bait as in the latencies mice who had a nibble lose their appetite.

When the pest is controlled, place some baits and forget about it to discourage adventurous intruders from getting established.

Many baits may seem more convenient and cheaper, but once you realize 1 pound of this stuff = 5 pounds of the other stuff (150lbs dead mice per 1lb of bait) AND kills more humanely (single feed lethality, no accumulating illness) paying a couple bucks more makes a lot of sense.

I paid 20 bucks for 1.5 lbs, thought I was conservative by using half throughout my sheds and all floors of my house (dont forget the attic) and as it turned out I widely overshot the mark, the first bait setting was way more than needed and now serves for all baitings and sentry baits.

Put it where you would like to eat as a mouse: edge of the wall, behind the sofa, behind the fridge etc, places where no cat can come.

Don't vacuum up your sentry baits ^_^

20 bucks may seem like much but if you teach yourself to apply the poison in the right way and places, it does as good a job as multiple exterminator visits, for a few years to come. If you have a normal house and infestation, you'll need half a dozen ounces of it at most (remember thats up to 50lbs dead mice at maximum efficiency) Tiny portions in many places are key.

sure people have pests from time to time, but to say its all the time would be false.

so there's alot more kinds of people than that, ill add on a few more

people that actually try to prevent pests, and those who open their doors with arms wide open with carpets that you can put in the oven and out comes a supreme pizza

the major point im trying to get across here is that there's so many things you can do to prevent, but people always take the easiest approach.  but its clear some value life of other beings and some don't, if people felt they have a valid reason for killing a being is one thing but to then showcase it with pride is another.  these are kills out of anger, with pics ment to showcase abuse on anothers life.  i think thats what always irks me about threads like this.

90% of people with mouse problems had it coming, the mice on the otherhand were just following instinct.  if you can plant your poisen you can just as easily bait a few live traps and then release your mice on your foes.  am i really being that unreasonable here?  or do you guys not care and just like an easy target since im clearly on the other side of the fence by myself
