wtf is that dust shit al over ur jars man.. u gotta be alittle cleaner if u want to succesfully grow mushrooms those jars must reek i wouldnt even try to save those jars just throw them directly into the dumpster and dont look back it looks like theres more than one tyope of contam in there.. did u even sterilize those jars!?

So i started over and i think im doing good this time! Judging by my last post here i think its been about 2 weeks, prob less since i started over,.. im wondering how much longer till its time for birthdays? :laugh:

that top jar is looking nice.  If you got the dry verm layer on top you could take the tape off.  Might help speed up the process.  What temp are you storing them in?

it ranges from 76-81F in my room,.. got breathable paper medical tape over the 4 holes top of each jar now,.. and ya i put the dry verm on top but ive tipped them around a few times over the last 2 weeks to look at shit so i don't know if i should take it off,.. might just go ahead and not fix it if it ain't broke :cool:

...got a big tub drilled, filled with perlite, and ready to go too! cant wait till birthday time so i can see these suckers grow. its a constant 81 F and 85%RM inside, should be even higher once the cakes are in there and i add more water too.

I dont think that is true,

But since they have colonized this far you would be fine, leaving tape on your jars for the first like 25% is not going to slow anything down that much and it does help prevent contamination

no it doesnt lol thats what the dry verm layer is for....after sterlizing the tape serves NO purpose...if your going to get a contam through your dry verm layer your going to get a contam period, tape wont stop anything

alright well im a centrist so i split the difference and pealed the tape off and stuck it just hovering over the holes,.. its not making a seal anymore bit it is still over it kinda like a dome tent  :thumbup:

id say 4-5 days until 100% colonization then 1 week after that so week and half....also if you dont wait the full week after 100% colonization i have noticed you will get less pins when fruting

oh one more Q,.. how long will they take in the tub? in that video i watched someone linked me earlier he said 7 days for whatever he was growing,.. im growing 5 strains, TAZ, QUE, Pink Buffalo, Argentina, and Treasure Chest. Ok 2 more Q's,.. how much do you think ill get total when im all done?

depends really to colonize the tub could take a week could take 3 weeks could take 2 months depends

Questions:
What do you mean when you say "per flush"?

I get that the time it would take can very a lot but why? What's it depend on?

and lastly, should mushrooms have some light source? Do they grow faster if they do? Where i have them is pretty out of the reach of light, not totally dark but still.

per flush is when the first set of shroms grow and picked the 2nd set that grows is 2nd flush. and they need inderect light i have mine so light from a widow can reach but not on. and they grow in the dark but get sturdy in the day. these were left in the dark 18 hours a day


these were 12/12 both from bags

oooooooooooooooooooohhh,... ya know i was wondering if you could "harvest" more then once, cool! How many times can you "flush" or harvest? Will they keep RE-growing forever? Im uh gonna get mine out of the area there in and move them into a lil more light ;-)
