Southern Michigan ID Request

Habitat: Found growing in the ground in a place where grass doesnt really grow.

Gills: White

Stem: White, skin is like coming off i guess you could say

Cap: Orangeish Yellow; you could say its narrow. It is darkest at top then fades to orange, then to yellow near the bottom

Spore print: Dont have it yet

Bruising: i havent seen any yet, ive flicked it and handled it too

Location: Picked in Southern Michigan

You made a (beginners) mistake. What you have is an Amanita. You cut off its base. NEVER EVER do that with an Amanita. It's a genus that harbors a few deadly species and it is absolutely vital that any identifier gets to see the base as its characteristics are important for a good ID. Dig it up carefully next time to keep the base intact.

indeed, and remember when doing so that the base can be extremely fragile and careless handling can also damage critical identification features.

I'd say Amanita jacksonii too.

I don't think that it is red enough for A. jacksonii. It could also be Amanita banningiana or even something in the A. fulva group, we can't see a partial veil so we can't assume that's in section Caesareae.
