if you're walking to the train station...
do you walk at an increased pace so as to catch the soonest train and not have to wait for another?
or do you walk at your normal pace and not mind waiting if you just miss the train?

IT depends whether I am late.. whether I think it is likely that there will be another train/bus... what the weather is like...
why would the answer neglect these points?

Well you can take this question literally or metaphorically.
Anyways, assume the train runs regularly, you are not running late, and weather is not an issue.

Even then it matters whether I am content to be walking and thinking or if I think I will have more fun at my destination?

So you take things at face value, yet still over analyze situations at the price of spontaneity?

I feel that pure spontaneity is pointless.. it means random actions, and is reckless. however, spontaneity in the sense of going with your inner feelings rather than according to a set plan, is an important part of life. I don't think it has anything to do with this thread though.
Where is the room for spontaneity? Running to catch a train or not? if you spontaneously decided to run to catch the train, this would be pretty mundane. similarly if you spontaneously decided to act casual when in fact there is no pressure on you to be anywhere, then that also would be pretty mundane. I think getting somewhere is a rather functional process, and if the goal is loose (eg you can get there any time really) then it doesn't matter what you do on the way there.
So I think in that situation I would stop and indeed analyse: do I want to get to my destination particularly soon? If so, then yes I will try to get the earlier train. If not, then I probably won't spontaneously run because I know that this leads me to be sweaty and I am probably going somewhere other than the gym.
I take things on face, and deep value, I analyse things, and I also act spontaneously. I don't see why youre trying to put me in a box!
What is your answer anyway?

I was hoping people would make connections between their answer and their pace of life in general. I hope that you see personalities employ both methods of getting to the train, but that in general we tend to favor one over the other.

nar man... 'personality' is a lie. sure, people act in their own unique ways and this can be called personality. But the idea of a 'type' that can classify you and all your actions overall is a shallow concept used to clump people into categories so that it is easier to administer them or simply comprehend them. Well thats not totally true... your uniqueness could be classified somehow. but the number of variables is immense and can depend on all of your life's experiences, which are continually piling up (therefor changing your personality).
Also, personalities are highly contextualised. People act different ways in different situations, different comfort zones.
Especially something like the pace of life... this can totally depend on what goals are in a persons mind, how busy they are, their mood, how society is treating them lately, etc.
So I unfortunately do not see your conclusive point - and I don't think anyone should assign themselves as a 'rusher' verses a 'take your timer'
but if you want to, thats fine. I just think youre needlessly confining your future actions and beliefs by identifying with such a general description

I haven't made any conclusions about personality in this thread, what are you talking about? The point of the question was to show that we can observe the deeper workings of our mind in every day scenarios.
You aren't grasping the deeper metaphorical point of this thread. How do you go about pacing your pace of life?
