Last Cake Standing

Did a batch of 5, pesh. All contam'd but one, so I cased it 50/50 style in a small tray but the whole sub+casing doesn't reach the sides.
The mycelium reaching out of the casing now are very strandy.
Do they need to reach the sides to fruit?

Personally I would have left it a cake. especially if it was the only one that made it out alive lol
