how long do you dunk cut cakes before casing..

yes thats correct they need water. so i know to dunk now how long is that for? overnight...
do you dunk in distilled water? any H202 involved.
I tried that too. How do you keep the cakes in the water?_ they float.

Cakes are dunked to rehydrate them. Mushrooms require copious amounts of water. Generally speaking, more water would promote heavier flushes.

i usually take a pot and put the cake in it and fill it with water and then put something over it and put it in the fridge for about 12 hours

What do you mean by cut cakes?  Sounds like your cakes are circumsized.    :shocked:  Why are they cut?

should i cut the 1/2 pint cakes in to 2 parts then ill have (2) 1/4 cakes standing or

Should i lay the cakes on their side and let them fruit this way?

using 200:1 h2o:bleach to dunk (hippie) can help prevent contam. h2o2 can also be used not sure about ratios tho...

peroxide ratio is 20:1 water:peroxide.
but i prefer the bleach, 200:1 water:bleach.
