Abnormal color on a stem

I picked a cluster of shrooms from a cake today that all had really dark brown stems, as dark as the caps. I just wanted to run it by the shroomery to make sure they're ok to eat. The big one is the only one that concerns me, and this is it (the cap also kind of fell apart on it too, but that's probably because I kinda mishandled it):



The rest of my harvest all have the regular off-white stems like so (this one's just for comparison):



I'm almost positive that there's nothing wrong with the dark brown one, but since I'm a newbie to this hobby I want to double check with the more experienced growers.

Looks good to eat as far as I'm concerned.

As long as they smell like mush and don't appear to have any nasty contaminants growing on em (which they dont seem to), then you should be okay.

I would most likely attribute the dark caramel color of those stems to some funky genetics, probably as a result of multi spore inoculation. A good thing if you ask me, who doesnt like variety?

Wasn't a multispore inoculation, but perhaps a slight mutation? I dunno what the cause is, I just want to make sure there's no danger from it.

Looks normal. If it was me I'd smell it. If it smells like mushroom, I'd eat it. Then I'd tell my wife that it was bad so I threw it out, didn't want her to get sick, yadda, yadda, yadda...

if i was you i would break those fat stems down a lil better so they dry easily. sliced open down the middle at least.
the caps look dry but the stems dont..... you dont want that shitt to rott

they are fine to eat the way they are...... that would just be your prefference. i love eating whole fresh mush, its a helluva experience.
the drying is just for long term storage, cuz fresh shrooms rott quick

his shrooms are fine right now they just need to be dried if he aint gonna eat'em
