anyone been to jury duty before?

i've never been before but tomorrow i got a juror summons. from what i hear im looking at waiting for a few hours before they actually call/let you go. it says wear business attire, but jeans and tucked in long sleeve-collared shirt with nice adidas works right? lol

anyone got any interesting stories about jury duty?

yeah it sucked in my experience just 6 hours of walking around the county courthouse with cops black people and german shepherds all around me had no bud because well it was the county courthouse and i couldnt leave. 

I never got called into a jury pool.
I was there for 2 weeks
Everyone that works for the city is fat.

you think jeans are exceptable for this? i really could care less about going to the jewdicial courthouse, ill probably pass out while i'm waiting anywho haha. funk the punk police

I,ve gotten summons before but always put that I am not of sound mind, and send it back.
Never had a problem doing this.

they told me to dress up...like button up and slacks...i said fuck that and wore a t-shirt and shorts, i mean they cant 'fire' me.  its not illegal.  and if they tell me to go home id be more than happy to.  I lost money that whole week not being at work and didnt make nearly that with what the state paid me.

but seriously you're right they can't fire you, and if someone approaches me and asks me ill be like this is business attire for me hoe. hopefully my attire will = to my time being in the judicial house . i mean what if someone is less unfortunate they can't do shit but wear what they got, ya know.

i mean it wouldnt have been so bad if i wasnt losing money...its just boring man thats all most of all its boring.  Idk if you smoke cigs bring those if you get a lunch break keep some weed in your car to make the most of it...bring an ipod or something.

Jury nullification is a means for the public to express opposition to an unwanted legislative enactment. It's in fact the only way to override the judge's decision on let's say, a sentencing for possessing a plant, and acquit the defendant of the charges.

I get called every 9 months (they contact you 3 months in advance)

For the most part they make you come in, sit around for 6 hours or so, then send you home.

Some fancy counties got that call in and be dismissed over the phone thing. I'm not that lucky. I just moved to a fancy county though so I'm pretty excited about that. No doubt they're going to send me a letter, its been around 8 months.
