Yes, establishing an identity based on race is racism.  It is disgusting and should be opposed by any person who opposes racism.  Culture is independent of race in an open society, and that is the opposite of what La Raza advocates.  La Raza is the KKK of our day.  Their end goal is the establishment of Aztlan where Mestizo people only get to be citizens.    Why the american people support them is beyond me.  They hold rallys are my old college spouting their hate against whites and blacks.  Its time people saw them for what they are - the enemy of freedom and equality.

I will also say that I am with you here, I don't like Sotomayor either, but probably for different reasons... She's simply not liberal enough. She's got a very middle-of-the-road approach to politics and her record against "crime" worries me. She seems like the type more likely to side with the police on issues like search and seizure, wiretapping, and marijuana related issues.

However, to say History is the easiest major is flat out wrong. Especially at Ivy league schools... I went to a boarding school for the last 4 years of my high school education, where all of the professors there had their doctoral degrees in their respective fields. One of the teachers was actually an ex-Yale teacher, and he to this day is the hardest teacher I ever took. What did he teach? History classes.

I took Strategy and Diplomacy, European Political History, Pre-WW2 Germany, and a few other tough classes with this guy. If what I experienced was even close to how he taught at Yale, I shudder to think about what those guys went through. I learned a lot, more than I ever think I will need to know about European history, but I vividly remember massive term papers (20+ pages, single spaced) on topics from primary research documents that gave me plenty of butthurts. History is an underrated major... you can't do much with a history degree, but to call it easy I think is just flat out wrong.

I am not bothered by the "racism" in Sotomayor though, honestly. I think its more of the passive sort, something most people in this world have (but just don't say anything about it). I hope his next pick is better though.

You sound like a racist apologist to me.  La Raza is the modern KKK in the sense that they have apologists like yourself in the general population.  I will fight Aztlan with my dying breath.  A hispanic has no more right to live in the Sonoran desert than a white or a black or any ethnicity.
