Anyone around here with a few grows under their belt will tell you to ALWAYS dunk and roll your cakes for the best possible yield.  Why not do a test for yourself, dunk and roll one cake, put the other straight to the FC and see which one produces more fruit faster.

There's a reason why everybody does it.  It works very very well.  In fact, dunking is a  necessary step between flushes, if you want more than one flush. Dunking before the first flush (right after birth) is optional, but highly recommended. The roll isn't quite as necessary as the dunk, but it WILL provide better flushes. You can either roll, or just double end case (vermiculite on top and bottom of cake) for equal results.

This is very basic info for cake growers, it sounds like you need to do a lot more reading.  Use the Search feature and search for "dunk", "dunk and roll", etc.  I doubt you'll ever find a single person saying it doesn't work.
