Alright, I've seen lots of people using perlite for humidification while growing casings, and I was wondering, is it really neccesary? Does it help? How much does it help?

I think it helps. Its not completely necessary, provided you have some means of humidification.

It helps me, because its pretty much fool proof, and it eliminates misting.

if you go to http://www.shroomery.org/findorgrowthem.php?View=grow and then to humidification techniques, some of the teks give you the pros and cons of each humidifying option. perlite has it's pros and cons too. Just do a lil reading. I found it to be interesting.
