Hmmm, let?s take a look at this.....

The water saturation pressure at 71.6?F is 2.6447 kPa.
The water saturation pressure at 77.0?F is 3.1690 kPa.

This means, if you have an inside terrarium air temperature of 77?F and an outside (terrarium wall)temperature of 71.6?F, you will still have condenstion, although the relative humidity inside could be as low as only
2.6447/3.1690 = 83.45%.

Have you calibrated the hygrometer?

But you can check it with the calibration method. Then you know if and how much it?s off.

Check out the faq....

I am having a similar problem, as it is getting rather cold were i live at the moment i thought i had better invest in some heating for my terrarium. I am using a 100w globe controlled by a thermostsat set on 25 degrees (75 for you americans ).
This keeps the temp nice but it seems to drop the humidity down to just below 70. when i let the temp drop to say 20 degrees the humidity rises to like 80-85 within minuets. Any ideas on how to increase my humidity at 25 degrees??/

Alright well i waited 24 hours and the rH was still shit with the perlite. I went out and got an air-pump and hose to attach to it. My terr is small and had no room for a bubbler so i improvised. I emptied all the shitty perlite/water out and taped the hose to the bottom of the terr with water proof tape. I then poked 2 holes in the hose every 1 inch. Then i put a new perlite/water mix in over the hose. I turned on the bubbler and the it was like perlite humidification with little bubbles comming out everywhere. Now my rH is 99%-100%.

Thanks for all the help everybody!
Fd
