What to do with a monotub after it's finished?

My monotub is pretty much out of life.

I want to get rid of it, wtf do I do w/ the mycelium/substrate?

"Bury it" is probably the most popular response. It doesn't really matter... what are your concerns? Legal? Ethical?

I don't know about you, but the sub in my tubs is composed of horse shit, old coffee grounds, vermiculite, gypsum, and coco coir.  You MIGHT be able to get me drunk enough and offer me enough money to eat colonized shit, coir and coffee grounds, but I personally think eating gypsum and vermiculite in any way, shape or form is just stupid.

i wouldnt eat it. toss it out on a compost pile in the garden.

Eating colinised rye berries seems like a slightly more appetising option.

Yeah, it had a feeling that was the concern.

Black trash bag mixed with general waste ontop dumped in someone elses trash.

Im not that concerned though. Where i live we have a comunual  garbage bin. It gets uplifted once a week.

Not much chance of anyone noticed mycelium in amongsts a huge bin full of rubbish

Exactly.  Just toss it in the trash.  Old casings tend to look a lot like something that has been neglected in the fridge for months.

yeah i agree, they usually go green and well, alot of old moist things will go green.

My crumbled brf cake really doesnt resemble mycelium anymore.
