Does anybody Have experience/ an opinion on Zoo Med Repti-Fogger with the HygroTherm Controller
    #10617746 -

I've been looking at Zoo Med's Repti-Fogger for use with my fruiting chamber. With the repti-fogger you can also purchase Zoo-Med's HygroTherm. It's advertised to be a completely automated way to control your terrariums humidity. I'm fairly new to mushroom cultivation, and so I lack the experience to properly judge this Equipment. It looks like the whole setup is going to cost right around $160 dollars. I don't mind spending the money for the added convenience, but like anyone else I'd hate to spend that kind of money just to be disappointed. I've put a link that takes you to the equipment on the manufacturers web page. If anybody has any experience with this equipment I'd really appreciate your feedback. If anyone has any expert advice, or thinks there maybe a problem setting this up please let me know. I mean with my lack of experience it could be that this is great for reptiles, but not for mushrooms. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Overkill. You don't need to spend that amount of money. That's just crazy!

Thanks alot for the link! Hey just one more question though. Do you know about there autoumated Hygrometer. They call it HygroTherm. I didn't see it on the link you posted. I have concerns about the Hygrometers accuracy, and ability to contol the Repti-Fogger

trust me i work in the reptile business for a living. Foggers are shit! Put out the extra money and buy a good fogger from a garden center. Or buy an automatic mister. They are far better if set up properly.
Foggers are built cheap and do not last.

I'll look into that Mango man. Thanks for the tip. I really hope I can find a good fogger that's ran automatically from an accurate Hygrometer. I just don't want have to deal with the terrariums humidity manually. I want something That's automated. I'd be willing to spend the money on a good system if I could find it.

MAN... why don't you listen?... The RH is mantained by perlite!.

Substrate humidity must be mantained by misting!.

You can always instal a drop to drop system that's used for gardening but the mycelium needs the evaporation so misting is the only way to go. If you don't want to mist don't grow.

But you can go and spend money, whatever, it's up to you!

You sound like your getting angry. I've done it with a mister before, and I know about the perlite. I'm trying to find a method that's takes a little less effort. Maybe that method doesn't work well, or maybe it's not for you. I'm pretty new at this, and I'm the first to admit I have alot to learn. I'm just exploring options, and different techniques in my new hobby.

Sure! I'm not getting angy at all! I could never be angry! I just hate that people waste money to capitalist inustries and that's why I'm telling you, there's no way around it. The fogger keeps the RH up as does the perlite but, costs a lot more. The humidity in the substrate can only be replaced by misting. You need to look and see how much it needs to be misted. A machine can't do that so you'll be spending money for nothing. Please, don't get me wrong. It's just that it's not worthed!

Watch RR's videos and build a shotgun terrarium. If you need less effort than don't grow.
