repti bark for casing layer

i got repti bark do i need to pasturize this how would i perp it for a top casing layer?

I'm about to experiment with reptile bedding. I'm going to boil it for a good part of an hour, and then steam it in a vegitable steamer. What you do is up to you. Hasta.

I usually just put the coir into some boiling water then let cool and wring it out well before spreading it.
no problems with contams (YET)
