way to get beers cold at a festival (possibly)

i just came up with this idea...  - not sure if it'd work. haven't tried it.

what you need:

  • nitrous oxide dispenser

  • nitrous oxide whippets

  • cool bag
       
  • bottled or canned booze



Method 1
put a crate of beers or a few bottles of white whine in your cool bag..
unzip it just enough to get the nozzle of the dispenser inside
empty the dispenser inside, then do up and leave for a few minutes

if that didn't work.. try a bigger dispenser with a couple of whippets.

dunno if you could use those soda canisters to the same effect. or if they're cheaper..


Method 2
use several canisters through a dispenser until it gets very cold.
(a metal one would be needed)
fill up with a charger..  and leave it in there for a while {makes it even colder}
put the dispenser in the cool bag with the booze

the atmosphere should cool the beers down.. at least some  (better than none.)

or you could acquire some dry ice, its works great as a coolant and after you get wrecked off your tits you can make crude explosives with it,

throw a bit of dry ice in the bottom of a plastic bottle, put the cap on tight and throw it into someones campsite

im not sure how effective N2O canisters would be though, they get pretty cold when you crack them open but they are so small you would probably need to use a few per beer . . . . . nitrous is for huffing :yesnod:

The best way I'd think would be salted Ice Water...no?

salt + water doesn't cool it, just lowers the melting and boiling point.  Dry ice + acetone if you really wanna cool shit off (known as make-shift liquid nitrogen)

considering if you were to touch dry ice and acetone once they've reacted your finger would instantly freeze through and through.  Theoretically, if you were to then tap that finger with a hammer it would shatter (the finger that is).  So, no, neither is healthy to consume.  But, very easy to purchase.  Mythbusters had a beer cooling thing with liquid nitrogen, you could use the same design and this instead (i believe)

Well i tried it myself and saw it on mythbusters and it DID mae the beer ICE COLD quite quickly.

One can't have a cooler with ice at festivals?

Anyways, tried and true, you could bury the beers in the ground, and it will lower the temperature.

Not very effect, or controlling, but would work to get them at least 10-15 degrees cooler.

That or a river, same method.

Oh yes, it would, but I would still bury them a bit, as the temperature is even cooler than just the water.

Maybe make some sort of cooler for the river out of rocks and place rocks over rocks (in a pile) with the beers sandwiched in between.

Borrow someones ice chest? :shrug:

Keep it cool in a padded luncheon carry bag.  They can fit about a six pack or so in them.

why bring beer to a festival anyway, its too weak so you have to bring shit loads of it and it makes you piss every ten minutes, just bring a couple of litres of spirits

Salted Ice water makes ice melt but it is still sub-freezing(<32f), creating sub-freezing(<32f) liquid water, or so I would presume ;p
(aka, it works)
Put some salt on the top of your hand and set an icecube on top of the salt(press down for best results). 

(You get freezer burnt skin)
