Is this even possible? 1 in a million?

About a month ago I collected a gallon bag of horse poo.It was dry and i broke it all up. I had some spore clumps left in my empty syringe so I sucked up some tap water in it and stuck it in the corner of the bag and injected it. Today I was moving it around and I saw about 15 white spots in it. It appears to be mycellia I look closer and I think theres a rhizo growing on the bag. There is a good amount of condensation in the bag. This is unpasturized poo and was regular tap water. This shit sounds pretty rare and was wondering if this is what I think it is. How possible is this?

I think that it is very unlikely.

Im sure that's pretty rare dude. But all you can do for right now is just wait it out and see what pop's up, if it is mycelia then consider yourself lucky, let the bag colonize and then case it. But Im sure in the future it would probly be best if you pasturized first. Good luck, keep us posted~~!!

I once bought some compost, it had mycellium running through it already. It was some sort of coprinus, I wouldn't expect that it's definanlty mycellium, nor would I expect under high co2 concentrations for that bag to go contam free. But it's definantly possible. Wait it out, if you get 100% colonization, see if you can fruit it. Good luck!

Well a month made 15 spots and its a whole gallon! Im not waiting a year. I trhink I will wait till the main corner colonizes mostly then cut it off and spawn some pasturized poo. Im sure they will be overly large pr's due to all the poo. I thought it was impossible but I geuss not.The pr strain is pretty strong anyway

What are you asking, if its possible for un past poo to colonize, yeah its possible, I have a tray fruiting right now that was not pasteurized. But heres the problem, even if you don't get contams, you will have those little annoying flies.

Basically because 1. The bag has a hole in it 2. It was tapwater in the syringe 3. No sterile conditions whatso ever 4. I thought you could not use poo as a substrate unless its in the wild I geuss I proved #4 wrong. Why the hell have I been so sterile when I can basically whipe my ass when holding anything thats suppossed to be sterile.

In cultivation, poo is nothing other than a substrate. And the reason why you must be sterile, is because it helps increase your chances for success.

Spores will germinate on poo...how does it happen in the wild?
It's just harder to do it all without contams.

I understand that you were speaking in terms of cultivation, but look at it this way, all the cubensis that grow in the wild were from spores germinated in manure. Its just much harder to do, even in the wild, thats why in a pasture maybe 1 out of 1000 patties have shrooms growing from them.

Oh well, the dream dies. At least you got some good poo to spawn some cubensis mycelium with.
