Once a bulk substrate is fully colonized & cased. It is fairly comtam resistant. So long as the casing material is non/nutritious (as in a 50/50+ type casing mix).
So long as you take reasonable steps NOT to expose the whole "basket" to any overt nasty contam source. You are as safe as having them in individual containers.
Most unautomated growers open their containers to fan & mist on a daily basis. Unless they are in a hepa filtered room & wearing a clean suit & mask. They are fanning & misting in thousands of potential bacteria & mold spore contams each time they do that.
Most manage to do okay, wthout getting contams under that situation.
Anno uses a similar grow chamber, in an open room. He does fine. What's that tell you?

hey six....did you come up with this on your own or did Hippie from mycotopia help ya? check out his portable grow room ...its along the same line as yours..except his is a martha stewart portable closet....(All Hail Martha, In all her glory!!!!) ...

and so does anno and stammets has a similar design with a pvc frame, but bigger. If it holds humidity it's been used.

A question though.
when using cakes, would this be a problem, since a light source will be coming from the sides, as well as the top?
If so, then I guess this would ONLY be suited for a closet, if you are using cakes.

LOL, The Raccoon did exactly 4 cakes, one time. His first & last time. Then moved on to bulk substrates & never went back to cakes. No offense, but when it comes to B/E & economy of scale --- cakes are like comparing a kids tricycle to man's Harley Davidson substrate. They don't compare.
As for anybody using cakes in a stand alone small portable green house enviro. It could be done. But, it would not compare to this.

Greenhouse like affairs of all differing sorts & sizes have been in use since day one of mans mushroom cultivation. Some inovation is required when cultivation is reduced to closet size spaces, or smaller & privacy is a mandate.
That is why I posted this. An inexpensive light weight readily adaptable closet sized greenhouse is a good thing to use when you step up, from cakes. Simple as that.
