Gonna practice dying today; Who's fainted?
    #10381209 -

I've fainted a bunch of times and am about to get some blood work done soon which means I'll certainly faint. Not because of blood or needles but because my body can't handle the swing in blood pressure. GRRR!! This sucks! This is exactly why I get blood work once a year or less. I don't even know why I agreed to this seeing as I'm looking and feeling better in my life.

Anyway about fainting. It's like being there, then all of the sudden your strength behind everything (body, senses, intelligence) starts pouring right out of you and you begin panicking as a horrible metallic white noise sound and feeling and taste takes over. Then you dream, or don't dream and wake up to a bunch of confused and nervous people asking if you're okay while feeling as weak as you can be. You spend the rest of the afternoon feeling the sensations of your body turning everything back on. I'm pretty sure the beginning part is almost the exact same feeling you get when you die because not only is your body shutting down, all sensation becomes a flat warmth "comfort". Comfort in quotations because only a sick fuck would design that feeling to give us comfort.

Wow. That's weird.
I have never fainted. Passed out drunk, but no fainting.

Strange.  Gotta learn some meditation and get that heart rate way down before they stick ya.

Half kidding.  I'm not sure if that would have any effect, and it doesn't sound like a situation that would arise enough to warrant such practice.

But I can't really believe you faint because of the pressure change.

I honestly don't think I have ever seen someone faint.

Gonna do a little research on it. :nerd:

I fainted in the girls bathroom at work while on a water fast once.  It was exactly as you described and I just slumped right down on the tile floor.  It was really embarrassing because I was nudged awake and then taken to the bosses office to lie down with my feet up.  They said I was white as a sheet.  That was the last time I water fasted at work.

I've seen so many people faint after getting there blood drawn at work.

They always wake up completely confused about where they are, and what happened. I remember this one girl being like "I thought I was at my moms house in Miami".

I've only "fainted" once, I was really high, and I was in the bathroom  trying to blow up a really small balloon with this girl I knew. It was just like you described, everything kind of slowed down, and closed in, but I didn't give a shit. I ended up falling against the wall, and right over against the trash can. I woke up pretty embarrassed.

I faint, or come about to close as fainting as possible without actually fainting, a lot. It's actually pretty awesome.
The body load and hallucinations are intense.

I faint when I have blood taken too. It's so crazy, I inevitably try to fight it and start blinking my eyes trying to see clearer and shaking my head trying to snap out of it. I bet it looks really funny. Then you enter a world of white, which makes me agree that it is similar to dying(reports of seeing tunnel of white light in near death experiences). Of course I guess it could be considered a near death experience

I've never had blood taken but I know what you're talking about, I have low blood pressure and whenever I stand up and stretch really fast after a long time sitting down or curled up my brain just shuts down and occasionally I black out and collapse. I've learned to sit down until the feeling passes. It's pretty terrible, one time I fell on a girl at school.

I don't like taking more than a couple hits of nitrous at once because it gives me the same general feeling.

Well that was wild. The blood girl was especially skilled so I actually didn't faint. Then as a precaution I ate some chocolate I had with me so I wouldn't faint and according to her THAT made me faint.

I was chewing then all the sudden impending ego loss and a deconstructionist dream about my train ride there. Then I wake up wondering what ceilings are, what ceiling this is, and why am I looking at this ceiling. This faint spell actually wasn't so bad because when it was coming on I consciously kept calm and let it just happen.

I've fainted on mushrooms before, and it was intense. Waking up tripping out really threw me off.

Huh, so you evaded the faint during the actual procedure but fainted afterwards due to the chocolate?

 glad it wasn't too bad for you.

I've fainted before, and I have extremely low blood pressure so I can make myself almost faint in the same way others have described with rapid changes in elevation.  The physiology behind that is the blood is being drawn away from your brain by gravity when you stand up and all your blood vessels dialate, and if you have low blood pressure it takes a bit for the blood to start pumping back up fast enough (hence why you put people's legs up if they pass out, or you put your head between your legs when feeling faint)

People pass out in my anatomy classes all the time, the body really freaks people out.  For me it's needles, for others it's blood or open wounds.
