Comfortably Numb
    #2930902 - 07/27/04 12:08 AM (19 years, 8 months ago)

Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear you?re feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship?s smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can?t hear what you?re sayin?.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I can?t explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick. [ping]
There?ll be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe it?s working. good.
That?ll keep you going for the show.
Come on it?s time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ship?s smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can?t hear what you?re sayin?.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

gilmour makes the guitar sing in that song

definately an epic

--------------------
Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

the lyrics are certainly the thing not to listen to in any music, that includes floyd, lyrics will suck the soul out of the melody

australian pink floyd is the best tribute band there is, they dont do much besides play the studio versions. Comfortable Numb they did their own thing for alot of the solo, and man, its GREAT. Theres nothing as sweet as a musician putting his talent to its full extent, no matter how good or bad they are.

There's a band called the Scissor Sisters - all gay, out of the UK, sing really dancy stuff that is reminiscent of WHAM but with a modern electronic touch...hilarious, good stuff, and they do this super techno version of Comfortably Numb...which normally would be horrible, but god it's good.

Damn I love that song. I sing it sometimes when I'm bored.

Let me get this straight, you're saying a cover band musician is using his ability's to his fullest?

I can't see that being possible.

Oh yeah, the Doors are wayyyyy sucky.

Wow. It has been along time since I heard that song. I think just now when I was reading it I finally understood it.

I don't listen to near enough floyd, mostly just animals and meddle when I do.
