You seem to be badly informed. There are other indole alkaloids in these mushrooms. Psilocin, for example. P. semilanceata contain close to no psilocin, whereas azurescens contains more psilocin than psilocybin. If you add the psilocybin and psilocin of azurescens (or bohemica) the total of active compounds is higher than that of semilanceata. P. semilanceata are the 3rd most active Psilocybe, IIRC. (1. azurescens, 2. bohemica, 3. semilanceata).

not much of a poster but this thread interested me, having only actually picked libs for the first time two seasons ago i had grown various strains before and turned my nose up at their size and somehow in my head that meant potency...wrong, idiot, moron...the list continues. anyways, on the topic of lib cultivation a few of us got a big haul in the 2007 season, made a note of the surroundings, even a rough angle of the hill, length of grass etc etc. With this my friend took a large amount of them to a similar area the same day where at the time there were only a few libs popping up when most other areas around were fruitful. he spread the spores of the freshly picked libs literally just by dumping the bag on the floor repeatedly, picked the remaining shrooms and went. Coming back a week later there was unsurprisingly nothing, or at least very few. spot was written off for the rest of the season.

2008 came and i had moved away but he went back to the old haunts and checked out that old spot where he spread the spores, he tells me the place was rammed with libs. good times. I'm really wondering if this could of been due to the spreading of spores the previous year? or more likely coincidence?

You were surprised that the spores you spread in the field had not turned into full grown mushrooms after a week?!?
