I fucking hate it when I forget what an anulus is. Maybe I'll go look it up in a dictionary.... maybe not. You never know.

That has happened to me several times. The later flushes of nearly all strains/species look healthier and more normal. It may have to do with the proliferation of stimulating bacteria in the casing.

To answer Wildlaser, here is a picture of some Cambdians from Hawk's site. Look at the collar around the stem. The Anulus is the veil that proctects the spores as the cap opens. On some mushrooms it stays attached to the stem and gives that collar, others it doesn't. I was just suprised to see it on the PF strain after all that time. Check it out here.
