I like you guys, in fact, my only issue with the majority of Americans I encounter online (in real life, over here, you're completely different), is that ripping on the British is almost like a sport.

Well, that and the near constant bastardization of the English language.

Not really an issue with Americans, but the fact that the majority of the dick bags over here feel the need to imitate shit that goes on in your country fucks me off too.

The governments are for me what I don't like.

Every foreigner I've met has always treated me nicely with respect and a great attitude.

Forsure HPI - i am glad to be from Canada, and when travelling international it is good to set yourself apart as a Canadian, so you are not mistaken for an American...

I MUCH prefer Canada to the US.

Our country has been on top for most of the last century, yet all we managed to do is perpetuate the British economic system that exploits the poor and force our ideologies on a very large portion of the developing world.

The most noble thing America's done as a superpower is defeat Germany and Japan in WWII...but then we spent what, 50 years in a cold war with Russia because they gobbled up so much land after WWII? Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Read the history of Western Europe from the collapse of the Roman Empire up until World War II and you see one power after another openly vying for world domination with no end in sight; war after war after war with the cumulative death toll easily in the hundreds of millions.

The US consciously bowed out of this never-ending tug of war with the Declaration of Independence, but when we were ultimately forced back into all-out war in Europe (and our hand WAS forced), it resulted in the first stable peace the region had seen in millenia.

Can you tell me what's wrong with what I just said?

Sure.

The fact that Hitler conquered so much of Europe and was such a monster that they had to band together to rebuild. It was the Nazis who ended all that warfare. Not us.

We did stop Hitler though, which was nice, but that empire would have fallen with or without our involvement and still lead to peace in Europe.
