bullshit.  Saplings need light to grow.  remember that thing called photosynthesis?  Needs lite, plus tons of other shit not found in the very small sacks that comprise most of your lung space.  I don't believe it.

You don't need light to germinate a seed, they are born with so much to keep them going for a couple days and then they wilt and die.

we are not talking about a germinated seed, we are talking about a sapling big enough for a doctor and his assistant to identify with great readiness, which probably means that there were leaves growing at this point.  Unless of course the doctor and his good assistant were well versed enough in tree lore to identify a fir tree by burgeoning roots alone.  Whadda you think?  I just don't think it is possible. :shrug:

fungus is weird, it share a huge percentage of its dna with humans.  that shit would grow everywhere on us if our immune systems didn't rock.

i was watching this show on discovery some years ago that said fungus was like our cousin or some thing.  taht was exactly how they put it.  I don't know though.

you dont have to believe it although the conditions are
favorable for germination of a fresh viable seed, nutrients are
available in the seed for getting it's crown above the dirt, it
wont need sun for at least a couple weeks

how though did the doctor know it was a fir tree
