Urgh! Car Towed.

Day Thrown Into Chaos.

I step outside and see that I must have left my car on the wrong side of the street.  I just parked it next to everyone else's and they all have tickets.

But mine is gone.

Likely because I don't pay my tickets, and after you exceed a specific amount they just take your shit.

Goddamnit.

This ruins my day.

I hope they give it back!

I never paid my school parking tickets, but they finally ran my cars license plate and found out who it was registered to haha.

How many times have you left the pub/bar and upon hitting the chill air realize you're not nearly as sober as you thought you were. You are now faced with a dilema. Drive home *KNOWING* you're acting dangerously and irresponsibly, or do the right thing and get home some otherway, but risk your car being towed from the lot/street. I propose the creation and sale, by the state/count/municipality of placards that hang on the rearview mirror, similar to the handicap placards, clearly stating "The driver of this vehicle has chosen to act responsibly and not operate it while intoxicated, please do not tow." The key is that the county sells the single use placards for just slightly less than the impound fee you'd have to pay if they did tow you. You buy a five pack as a form of "irresponsibilty insurance." The driver is given an incentive to not drive drunk (he/she knows his car will be there in the morning and he/she's saved a few dollars over what the towing fee would be), and the county creates an additional revenue stream. A system would have to be worked out so the placard is single use only, and you could only purchase so many a year, perhaps five.

this has nothing to due with drunk driving lol. and that idea is retarded. you shouldnt get rewarded for not drinking and driving it is expected of you. if he would have paid his tickets he wouldnt have gotten towed

nothing in here talk about a reward. i was just saying it could be cool if you could put a sign in your window indicating why your car is in the wrong spot. Perhaps saving you Towing fees.

I got my car towed in new york once, it wasn't fun dishing out 400 dollars, so as soon as I got the car I said I parked it there because it broke down, went to court and said that but there wasn't sufficient evidence
so I went to my mechanic and had him print out a fake receipt that he towed me from new york the day I got my car from the impound, went back to court a few days later
400 dollar retuuuurrnnnnned, always a way to beat the system :wink:

I dont think they got away here. they were like 12 cop cars and fire trucks (why in hell. not sure) and people one the ground, i only saw a part of it on my lunch.

There's a a TV show about this shit.  They film the tow-away and document how stressed out the people get when they talk to the clerk at the window.  Most don't have proof of insurance on them and have to wait for their daddy to drive 3 hours from the other side of town.  It's a malicious system. The clerks stay all calm, but the people go crazy.
