ok
first of all your truck is RATED to pull 2.5 tons..that means if you pull and more weight than that you are exceeding the specs your chassis, drive line and brakes were meant to handle.
you could use a trailer with powered brakes and squeak by with more weight.
we wont even get into tounge weight here
as for the winch, unless you have a cable SO LONG as to attach it to your destination then it becomes null and void.
since your truck weighs no more than 1.5 -2 tons that winch better be well secured and your frame stout.
winching is different than towing, did you know that???????

i dont think we were talking about towing, i just said "i could pull 16500 out of a ditch" cuz it sounds cool...
the winch is long, and when i pull people out of shit theres usually trees everywhere, so i connect the winch to a tree, put the tow strap at the rear and pull em out using the winch... dont even use the brakes, the truck is moving the whole time... winch cable is 100ft long and i also have 2 tow straps that are 50ft i think...

ok I see what you are saying...
I assumed 'pulling' meant towing not winching

and like i said before of course you guys would beat me in a drag race, but that kind of racing is boring as hell, id rather race a course that has obstacles that actually takes skill, not just whoever spent more money on their engine....
finally got some support...i didnt feel like arguing with this guy along
and yeah, you could say drag racing is boring...but how bout this

i drive a rally car, which means in just at home off road as you are

meh. i dont like the wrx body style...i was more a fan of the pre 2002 body (2.5rs). infact, just picked up a new car. it was between a 01' 2.5rs and an 01' s4. well, the s4 won that...more power, MUCH nicer interior, and i get the parts cheap.
why are you guys comparing a rally car to truck? im not sure about you guys, but i never have to go up any paths like that...theyre usually just gravel..small rock stuff. i guess the wrx is more practical, and the truck is more of a hobby?

A truck is more of a hobby. Practicality always wins!
Oh yea, congrats on the S4! Great car, twin turbo and its German engineering.

how will his car last longer just because i drive on rocks???? theyre called ROCK CRAWLERS for a reason... THEYRE MADE TO DRIVE ON ROCKS!!!!
if i drove a WRX on rocks then ya his car would last a lot longer... id be stuck in no time...
and driving on rocks has NOTHING to do with being smart, people do this all the time, there are competitions for this kinda stuff....

Just because it is a competition, doesn't make the people in it smart.
