Mushroom ID
    #10154680 -

Normally i am a lot more cautious about who i acquire these things from, but i got randomly offered it the other day and stupidly went for it. I believe them to be legit but have never seen fresh mushies before, only dried ones. And well better safe than sorry, so i figured id ask your guys opinion.

Well just FYI its extremely hard to identify dried mushrooms, your pics dont show enough information for anyone to really say they are indeed active and safe.

You might consider taking a few more pics, from farther away maybe, and any important details (do they bruise blue?)

At this point they would make good compost.

Well they arent really dried. They are still quite fresh, soft and mushie. They do however smell quite strong. The smell is akin to that of most mushies i get, but i really dont know if thats a common smell for mushrooms or not. Let me take some more pics from farther away and try and bruise them and ill post again.

Ok so i just tried bruising them but they didnt. I do only have caps and in my experience caps dont seem to bruise. (just tested it again with some mushies i know to be legit.)

Heres a less zoomed in image.

What other info can i supply you guys with that would help?

Mushrooms do not stay fresh forever.  If fresh mushrooms are not dried completely, then they will begin to rot.  Fresh mushrooms will begin to dry out on the surface after a few days of sitting out, but unless they are very small, the bacteria will take hold and begin to rot the mushroom before it dessicates thoroughly.  That is what is happening, and that is why the mushrooms smell "strong".  That odour is the smell of rotting mushroom.

I can't tell what that mushroom was, I can't even tell if it had gills or pores, but I would definitely not eat them.

Definitely bunk. Maybe store bought edibles some fucker is selling as actives. They look nothing like cubensis, that's for sure.

those look alot like the mushies posted for verification yesterday by BDylanm gotta wonder if they were bunked by the same asshole, or if there is just more people out there trying to screw people over than usual. I guess all the more reason to do research and  know what you are doing before you buy, pick, or especialy eat any mushrooms.

lly eat any mushrooms.

No, these ones actually have gills, therefore they are not Porcini.
